Remembering Donald Payne, a Champion for Africa
NED is deeply saddened by the death of New Jersey Congressman Donald M. Payne, who served on the NED Board of Directors for nine years from 1994-2003. He was awarded NED's Democracy Service Medal in 2003 for his tireless efforts on behalf of a democratic future in Africa and other countries throughout the world. more

World Youth Movement for Democracy Launches Hurford Fellowship, Youth Photo Competition
The WYMD has launched the Hurford Youth Fellows Program in Washington, DC. Youth leaders from around the world can apply for the opportunity to build leadership and organization skills and contribute to the development of the World Youth Movement. Deadline for the Fall Fellowship is April 30, 2012. more
The WYMD also launched its 2012 Snapshot of Democracy Photo Contest, open to photographers under age 30 from anywhere in the world. Deadline to submit is May 11. more
