Citizens' Alliance Works Tirelessly for Human Rights in North Korea
The determined efforts of one NED grantee, the Citizens' Alliance for North Korean Human Rights and Refugees, have helped to expose North Korea's human rights crisis and built an international coalition dedicated to bringing human rights to North Korea. In August, the organization held its 10th Annual International Conference on North Korean Human Rights and Refugees in Toronto, Canada. more

Community of Democracies Celebrates 10th Anniversary
NED joined the Community of Democracies (CD) in celebrating the 10th anniversary of its founding. US Secretary of State Hillary Clinton joined over 80 international delegations and 200 civil society activists to recommit to the principles of the Warsaw Declaration and discuss improving and expanding the CD's work. Clinton's keynote address called for action to protect civil society from a troubling increase in restrictive NGO laws. more
