Robert King, Special Envoy for North Korean Human Rights Issues
North Korea   
On Oct. 21, NED hosted a day-long conference on "North Korea's Shifting Political Landscape." Robert King, US Special Envoy for North Korean Human Rights Issues, gave opening remarks, and was followed by four panels of Korean and western experts and activists, including several North Korean refugees. Côte d'Ivoire

NED grantees saw years of hard work pay off in the recent elections. more 
 

Sudan
NED grantees, including Radio Dabanga, were caught up last week in Sudan's crackdown on civil society and media prior to the country's referendum on self-determination. more
