On December 5, 2008, NED hosted a panel discussion on the future of ethnic identity in China. Featured speakers included:

Dr. June Teufel Dreyer, Professor of Political Science at the University of Miami, served as moderator.  

The panel addressed the impact of China’s policies and practices on minorities’ well-being,  and on their distinct identities, as well as the options ethnic minorities have in striving to create a political, social and cultural environment free of coercive restrictions.
