Mr. Danov is currently regional editor of a global project called Mapping Digital Media, studying the overall impact of media digitization. Before moving to the nongovernmental sector, he worked as a reporter, presenter, producer, and editor at various radio stations, including Bulgarian National Radio, Radio Express, and BBC World Service. The author of numerous articles, he has lectured on journalism, media studies, and effective communications techniques at Sofia University, Cornell University, and the Fulbright Summer Academy.
During his fellowship, Mr. Danov plans to examine how American democracy has coped with the challenges posed by digitization of media, including the impact of Internet content regulations on freedom of speech and civil society development. His findings will help him identify the most appropriate solutions to apply to the Bulgarian context.
