Russian Chechen Friendship Society highlighted in Washington Post
The Russian Chechen Friendship Society (RCFS), a NED grantee, is highlighted in “U.S. reset with Russia at new stage as officials meet with human rights activists,” in The Washington Post.
The RCFS, which worked to expose human rights abuses and promote a peaceful settlement of the conflict in the Caucuses, was originally based in Nizhny Novgorod, the fifth largest city in Russia. Governmental harassment resulted in the organization relocating the Norway. Stanislav Dmitrievsky of the RCFS talks about NED’s support during some difficult times.
