Medienhilfe will provide the basic operating costs of the ANEM Secretariat and seven independent local radio stations committed to promoting professional standards of free speech and objectivity in Serbia. Medienhilfe will also provide technical assistance to four key multiethnic, multilingual radio stations in Kosovo and Macedonia.

The Romanian Academic Society will work to transfer the anticorruption and NGO coalition-building skills, models, and experience of Romanian NGOs from the successful Coalition for a Clean Parliament to counterparts in Southeast European countries. Activities will include organizing a two-day conference, creating a Southeast European Political Integrity Network, and assisting four NGOs from different Balkan countries in building effective anticorruption coalitions.

Smart Kolektiv will establish Patch TV, a regional network of journalists and authors from across the territory of former Yugoslavia. To break the information monopoly imposed by the ruling Croatian Democratic Union in the Croat-dominated areas of Bosnia and Herzegovina by strengthening independent sources of information. STINA will support 11 regional correspondents and five special issues correspondents, who will produce up to 250 news items per month on important developments in Croat-controlled regions that will be utilized by more than 200 news entities.

To assist the third sector in Bulgaria and Romania in building effective national umbrella structures for networking and advocacy in the field of democracy-building and development assistance. The Warsaw-based Group will conduct an assessment mission in each country, organize a study visit to Poland for ten NGO representatives from the two countries, and organize two seminars to increase the capacity of their Bulgarian and Romanian partners.
