To strengthen Malian communities' capacity to implement decentralization efforts. IRI will hold four training sessions to engage a small population in Mali's national decentralization movement. The program is meant to be a case study with potential to serve as a model for decentralization projects in other countries.

To enhance party leaders' awareness and understanding of models for internal party development and best practices for representing citizen interests in Mali. NDI will facilitate a series of informal meetings among party leaders and conduct capacity building trainings for political parties to improve internal structures, their ability to represent citizens' interests, and to increase party understanding of the electoral process.
