To improve participation among rural Guinean citizens, particularly women, in the democratic process and improve their knowledge of their legal rights and responsibilities. ADIC will recruit and train 20 paralegals to teach citizen's rights through literacy education in local languages. The paralegals will be dispatched to ADIC's rural Legal Information Centers, located in five prefectures.

Association pour la Défense des Droits des Enfants et des Femmes en Guinée (Association for the Defense of Children's and Women's Rights in Guinea) (ADDEF)

To encourage civic participation, especially among women, in human rights protection and the electoral process in Guinea. ADDEF will focus on two rural communities, organizing training-of-trainers workshops on human rights, democracy, electoral law, and oversight of elected officials. Following the workshops, participants will produce action plans to lead weekly democracy and human rights activities in their communities.

Réseau des Femmes du Fleuve Mano pour la Paix (Network of Mano River Women for Peace) (REFMAP)

To develop the capacity of women and youth in Guinea's forest region to manage conflict through nonviolent means. REFMAP will conduct training-of-trainers workshops for religious and traditional leaders, women and youth, hold a capacity-building workshop for member organizations, and organize public awareness-raising campaigns to be led by workshop participants. REFMAP will also arrange exchange visits for women activists with women's groups in neighboring countries.
