Council for a Community of Democracies (CCD)

To advance an African-oriented democracy agenda and strengthen the Malian secretariat of the NGO side of the Community of Democracies. CCD will assist the Malian secretariat with institutional support, coordination with international donors, creating a framework for civil society involvement in the Community of Democracies, and preparing for the Bamako roundtable event scheduled for 2007.

International Republican Institute (IRI)

To facilitate political participation among women in Cinzana commune leading up to the 2007 elections. IRI will conduct a series of workshops for women. The workshops will seek to train women on a variety of important issues including leadership, gender mainstreaming, and the electoral process.

National Democratic Institute for International Affairs

To strengthen the capacity of political parties to develop issue-specific platforms and effective communication strategies, and to support potential women candidates to compete in Mali's upcoming elections. NDI will hold a series of multi-party trainings and political party forums for party leaders, and will conduct trainings for potential women candidates.
