ACILS will conduct a regional industry study for the transportation and construction sectors to inform a regional strategy workshop. Select unions will then develop an action plan to increase union membership, build collective bargaining capacity, and coordinate strategies and communications among counterpart unions from the same industry.

To help to ensure that citizens across southern Africa are able to exercise their right to vote despite the growing, new challenges to credible elections. NDI will seek to enhance the capacity of civic organizations in southern Africa to safeguard elections through monitoring on election day and during the pre- and post-election periods. NDI will conduct a series of practical workshops on four topics: auditing voter lists, deploying election day monitors, conducting parallel vote tabulations or quick counts, and drafting monitoring statements.

To strengthen the role and status of women in political parties. NDI will develop a framework for assessing current challenges to women's political leadership within their respective structures and develop action plans to address the identified needs. Also, NDI will provide skills training to carefully select emerging women leaders from each political party.
