To build the capacity of free trade unions in Indonesia and strengthen research on national economic issues affecting labor. Working with local partners, the Solidarity Center will implement a training program on collective bargaining for free trade unions in four municipalities, organize a conference bringing together labor law practitioners, host a training workshop to raise awareness about laws and regulations that discriminate against women workers, and convene discussion forums and undertake research projects on select economic and labor policy issues.

Center for International Private Enterprise (CIPE)

To create functional, effective, and transparent business association advocacy efforts that address the broad-based interests of the business community in Indonesia. Through participation in CIPE’s workshops, private business groups will learn to undertake sound and representative public policy advocacy campaigns on behalf of broad segments of the business community. Local industry associations and chambers of commerce will improve their ability to design and implement public policy advocacy programs that address representative business interests and enhance the process of coalition building among a wide-range of businesses.

Center for International Private Enterprise (CIPE)

To strengthen corporate good governance practices in Indonesia’s private business sector. CIPE will provide technical assistance to the Indonesian Institute for Corporate Directorship to conduct an in-depth survey of the corporate governance standards in over 350 publicly-listed Indonesian firms and to organize a series of workshops to train corporate managers in good governance best practices.

International Republican Institute (IRI)

To encourage political parties’ communication with constituents on critical issues in Indonesian society. IRI will work with civil society organizations to present to voters the positions of the political parties on a variety of issues in a nonpartisan and voter friendly manner. IRI, in cooperation with the parties' youth wings, will also seek to increase the parties' communication capacities by developing and training youth councils from each party. The councils will advise party officials, provide outreach to voters and aid in constituent outreach and service.
