To strengthen Nepali trade unions’ internal organizational capacities to ensure that they represent a broad base of workers, including marginalized populations. The Solidarity Center also seeks to advance workers’ and trade unions’ political participation, especially in the constitution-drafting process.
Antenna Foundation Nepal

To raise awareness of the constitution drafting process through a national radio program. Antenna Foundation will produce a live radio talk-show that allows listeners to call in and engage with program guests on Nepal’s political transition. Antenna Foundation will also conduct capacity building trainings for reporters and producers of local stations on the development of feature stories.
Center for International Private Enterprise (CIPE)

To educate youth about democracy and free markets in an effort to encourage their participation in the economic reform process. CIPE will work with Samriddhi, a youth organization, to organize a series of workshops focused on these concepts and to support the development of entrepreneur clubs that will promote these principles among students.
Informal Sector Service Center

To increase the level of awareness and commitment of political parties to democracy and human rights principles. The Informal Sector Service Center will organize workshops, training programs and seminars designed to strengthen the internal organizational capacity of the major democratic political parties, encourage the development of democracy within the parties, and deepen their commitment to human rights and democracy.
Nepal National Dalit Social Welfare Organization (NNDSWO)
$45,000
To increase Dalit participation in the political process in Nepal and to promote Dalit rights. The NNDSWO will conduct a wide-ranging program that includes advocacy, empowerment programs, and capacity-building, to raise awareness among Dalits of their rights and encourage the full participation of Dalits in Nepali society and public life.
Search for Common Ground
$40,000
To increase and enhance youth participation in community-level decision-making in Nepal. Working with local partners, Search for Common Ground will facilitate the establishment of links and cooperation between adults and youth at the community level through a series of meetings, workshops, and monthly dialogues.
Youth Action Nepal
$29,005
To engage youth in the civic life of the country and encourage youth organizations to take a more active role in the political process. Youth Action Nepal will host a five-day study session on democracy and human rights and organize trainings and workshops on enhancing youth participation in the political process at the local and national level.
