To promote public support in Thailand for the expansion of collective bargaining rights for public workers, including teachers, and the enforcement of basic worker rights for subcontracted workers. The Solidarity Center will support an advocacy campaign by labor union leaders, union federations, and civil society and human rights partners on the need for legal reform and improved enforcement of freedom of association and other core labor rights. The Solidarity Center will also strengthen and expand the Thai worker rights monitoring system at the local level.

Cross Cultural Foundation

To establish a network of young lawyers involved in the protection of human rights, particularly the rights of marginalized populations, including migrant workers, indigenous people, the Muslim minority, and stateless people. The organization will focus its activities on five main areas: training and capacity building, public information campaigns, legal advocacy, strategic litigation, and network building and coordination.

National Democratic Institute for International Affairs (NDI)

To support civic groups interested in monitoring the performance of elected representatives. NDI will work with three civil society partners to document the commitments and promises made by representatives during the 2007 electoral campaign and track the performance of the representatives during their first year in office.
