Association Alumni of the Centre for Interdisciplinary Postgraduate Studies (ACIPS)

To promote free, fair, and transparent elections in Bosnia and Herzegovina. ACIPS will conduct a nonpartisan media mobilization campaign encouraging greater participation in the October 2008 local elections. To inform and educate voters, ACIPS will also monitor the election-related coverage of print and electronic media and report on the conduct of candidates and the content of their campaigns.
Association of Election Officials in Bosnia and Herzegovina

To encourage youth participation in the political process prior to the October 2008 local elections. The Association will conduct a civic education program for students in 20 high schools throughout the country on their role as citizens in a democracy and the importance of participating in elections, covering topics such as Bosnia’s political and electoral systems, electoral legislation at the national and local levels, and voters’ rights.
Balkan Investigative Reporting Network (BIRN) Bosnia and Herzegovina

To advance the process of transitional justice Bosnia and Herzegovina by supplementing the successful Justice Report magazine with an audio service, Justice Radio. The BIRN program will offer daily news and analysis on domestic war crimes trials, rule of law developments, past human rights abuses, and the impact these issues have on local communities. The Justice Radio reports will be offered to over 70 radio stations throughout the country.
Center for Civic Cooperation Livno

To promote effective local government and increase citizen participation in decision-making processes in Bosnia and Herzegovina. In two cantons of Herzegovina, CCC will organize public debates and radio programs about the work of local government; train local representatives to apply new strategies of cooperation with civil society, media, and citizens; and facilitate communications between local representatives and their constituents ahead of the October 2008 local elections.
Center for Informative Decontamination

To continue encouraging public debate on the most important social, political and economic topics affecting citizens living in Bosnia and Herzegovina prior to the October 2008 local elections. The Center will produce 14 episodes of the weekly program titled “Buka” (“Noise”), a popular live television discussion aimed primarily at youth, the segment of society most susceptible to political and civic apathy.
Center for Investigative Reporting

To promote the financial transparency and public accountability of elected officials in Bosnia and Herzegovina. The Center will produce and disseminate a series of 10 or more articles investigating how elected public officials have acquired their wealth, providing the Bosnian public with the information necessary to hold the officials accountable for documented cases of crime, corruption, or other misuse of political power ahead of the October 2008 local elections.
Forum of Tuzla Citizens

To advance constitutional reform in Bosnia and Herzegovina by promoting public debate and encouraging citizens’ participation in the reform process. The Forum will organize an awareness campaign, hold a series of public debates in five Bosnian cities, and produce an informational radio program. Together with partner NGOs, the Forum will advocate for constitutional changes in the areas of human rights and local government.
Human Rights Office Tuzla

To promote the political participation of national minorities at all levels of government and advance reform of legislation protecting the rights of national minorities in Bosnia and Herzegovina. Targeted training for representatives of national minorities will enable them to articulate their needs and issues through active political work. The organization and its partners will also monitor the implementation of and offer recommendations for improving relevant legislation.
National Democratic Institute for International Affairs (NDI)

To promote civic participation of women and youth in Bosnia and Herzegovina. NDI will work with local young and female activists to strengthen their ability to develop, coordinate, and launch advocacy initiatives at the municipal level. NDI will also assist NGOs dealing with issues that affect women or youth in building links with organizations having similar interests and forming issue-based coalitions across ethnic and political lines.
Nansen Dialogue Center - Mostar

To promote dialogue and cooperation between young leaders from democratically-oriented political parties in Herzegovina and develop their skills to participate effectively in decision-making processes. The Center will organize a four-month School of Dialogue and Political Skills for 15 members of youth wings of democratically oriented parties, which will include lectures, skills building workshops, study visits, and discussions between young political and civic leaders.

To continue producing the highly-successful radio program “Herzegovina Online,” in cooperation with five independent radio stations from both Bosnian entities. The nonpartisan program will focus on covering political developments and candidates’ platforms in the run up to the October 2008 local elections, as well as highlight the actions and performance of elected officials following the elections.
Youth Communication Center

To assist student activists to play a more effective role in advocating for youth related issues. The Center will provide capacity building training to student council representatives in three Federation cantons and facilitate their cooperation with other activists and government authorities. The Center’s radio station will produce a series of 25 programs to raise awareness about key problems facing the country’s youth.
Youth Information Agency (OIA)

To promote youth activism in Bosnia and Herzegovina. OIA will distribute and promote a multimedia educational package on youth activism in over 120 high schools, train 200 high school teachers in using the new materials in civic education classes, and broadcast a program on youth activism on local television stations.
