Center for Human Rights and Peace Advocacy (CHRAPA)

To increase awareness of the new criminal procedure code in Mezam and Boyo divisions in northwest Cameroon. CHRAPA will conduct a three-day workshop to train government officials, journalists, human rights defenders, and judicial police officers on rights and the new criminal procedure code. CHRAPA will distribute a simplified version of the code, publish a newsletter, and host a radio program on human rights.
Civil Initiatives for Development with Integrity (CIDI)
$46,796
To empower civil society and the media to influence public policy, the revision of the constitution and participation in the 2011 elections. CIDI will organize a conference and training workshop, and produce media programs on the role of civil society and the media in promoting the democratic process in Cameroon.
Women in Alternative Action (WAA)
$26,170
To promote youth involvement in democracy and good governance in Cameroon. WAA Cameroon will create youth-led think tank clubs in all the provinces. Having recently completed internships in government, participating youth will meet with local government bodies, and be involved in training and education of its members in civil rights.
