Association d’Appui au Developpement des Initiatives Communautaires (ADIC)

To strengthen rural constituents’ participation, particularly women, in the democratic process and improve their knowledge of citizens’ rights and responsibilities. ADIC will organize workshops for women leaders on electoral law, women’s rights and leadership, and facilitate literacy trainings combined with electoral process and governance awareness.
Association Guinéenne des Femmes pour le Développement Intégré (AGUIFEDI)

To encourage women’s participation in local politics and public administration in the prefecture of Dubreka. AGUIFEDI will organize a series of activities to engage local authorities, religious leaders, the community, and of course women on Guinean laws that encourage women’s full participation in politics.
Association Guinéenne pour l’Allègement des Charges Féminines (AGACFEM)

To promote women’s participation in decision-making on political and economic issues in Siguiri and advance rural women’s role within political parties and as candidates in future elections. AGACFEM will organize a series of trainings that will encourage rural women’s involvement in local politics.

Femmes en Guinée (ADDEF)

To improve citizens’ understanding of human rights, democracy, and the electoral process, and create a network of experts on human rights. ADDEF will organize workshops on human rights and democracy in Mali, Koubia and Tougue and assess participants’ understanding of their rights and responsibilities.
Coalition Nationale de Guinée pour les Droits et la Citoyenneté des Femmes (CONAGDCF)

To promote citizens’ rights and responsibilities and good governance in N’Zérékoré with an emphasis on women’s participation in local politics. CONAG-DCF will organize a series of trainings to create awareness on citizens’ rights and responsibilities with a special focus on women’s role in political life.
Mêmes Droits pour Tous
$47,825
To advance the cause of judicial reform, continue legal assistance to detainees in Guinea’s Central Prison, and increase the awareness of detainees and prison staff in Kindia, Mamou, Gueckedou and N’Zerekore on prisoners’ rights. Les Mêmes Droits Pour Tous will work with the Ministry of Justice to create a commission that will look into reforming Guinea’s justice sector. The organization will also continue the pro-bono legal assistance program focusing on illegal detention.
Search for Common Ground (SFCG)*
$50,000
To increase access to information in the Futa and Upper Guinea regions about democracy, human rights, good governance and the electoral process. SFCG will use local independent community radios for civic and voter education, and facilitate monthly roundtable discussions in the Peuhl and Malinke languages that will include civil society representatives, youth and women with local authorities.
