Grants Management Workshop Materials On October 2004 the NED's Program Officer for Africa, Grants Administrator for Africa, and Manager of Internal Audit conducted a two-day workshop in the Congo. The workshop covered all aspects of the grant cycle: the proposal, the grant agreement, quarterly narrative and financial reports, submitting grantee invoices for review, and closing out a grant. Also included were exercises which help strengthen a grantee's ability to submit NED required reports and forms.
Democracy, Human Rights, and Good Governance in Africa: French, American, and African Perspectives - On June, 1998, the Endowment sponsored a two-day conference that sought to contribute to the improvement of understanding among the leaders and peoples of France, the United States, and countries in Africa about the ways in which democracy and the protection of human rights can best be promoted in Africa. The event brought together over 130 leading African, French, and American government officials, representatives of pro-democracy and human rights groups, scholars, and experts.
Asian Center for Democratic Governance:
From 2000-2003 the Asian Center for Democratic Governance (ACDG) was a partnership between the National Endowment for Democracy (NED), Washington DC, and the Confederation of Indian Industry (CII), New Delhi. Based in New Delhi, the ACDG held regional workshops as well as larger international conferences on leading themes related to the development and strengthening of democracy in market economies.
