Program activities will focus on empowering civic organizations in Azerbaijan to expand space for dialogue and reform by using the economic crisis as a wedge issue to push back against authoritarian rule. Activities will include preparing policy papers, holding roundtables and organizing an SME conference to facilitate dialogue.

To support the Institute’s local partner in promoting citizen engagement and government accountability, the Institute would provide offshore technical assistance to the Azerbaijani organization with a focus on new developments in election monitoring, digital security, and citizen journalism.
