On October, 2004, the NED's Program Officer for Africa, Grants Administrator for Africa, and Manager of Internal Audit conducted a two-day workshop in the Congo. The workshop covered all aspects of the grant cycle: the proposal, the grant agreement, quarterly narrative and financial reports, submitting grantee invoices for review, and closing out a grant. Also included were exercises which will help strengthen a grantee's ability to submit NED required reports and forms.
The workshop discussed the various requirements contained in the grant agreement. It also highlighted U.S. federal government regulations and tied them back to these grant requirements which both NED (as a grantee of the State Department) and NED grantees must adhere to.
