To promote democratization, peace, and respect for human rights through ex­panded radio coverage in Central African Republic. Fondation Hirondelle will provide institutional support for Radio Ndeke Luka. It will finance salaries for Central African staff, investment in new equipment that is crucial for good radio programming, and services to maintain the functioning of the radio and its remote transmitters.

Mercy Corps

To ensure that women in Bangui, Bouar, Bambari, and Bangassou are more empow­ered and understand their socio-economic and political rights and legal processes for defending them. Mercy Corps will produce radio programs on topics affect­ing women’s rights in collaboration with a local NGO. It will also organize community mobilization activities to promote women’s greater involvement in local political life.
