Greg Slovak is a Policy Analyst at the Department of Commerce’s Bureau of Industry and Security (BIS), where he adjudicates export licenses and develops policies related to human rights, sanctions, and embargoes. In this role, Greg has advanced BIS’ multilateral efforts to counter the misuse of goods and technologies that violate human rights, working in partnership with the interagency. He is focused on analyzing the national security and foreign policy implications of emerging technologies to develop effective policy responses. Greg also leads engagement with industry and civil society on the topic of export controls and human rights. Greg began his career in the development sector working and living in India, China, and Taiwan. He holds a Master of Arts in International Relations and is proficient in Mandarin Chinese.
