Mr. Mohammad Sayed Madadi
Mr. Mohammad Sayed Madadi is co-founder and deputy director of the Youth Empowerment Organization (YEO), a Kabul-based civil society organization that works with youth in local communities to strengthen civic participation. He is also a board member of the Afghans Coalition for Transparency and Accountability (ACTA), a civil society group that voluntarily advocates for good governance. He has also authored a number of articles on foreignpolicy.com and Al-Jazeera. During his fellowship, Mr. Madadi is organizing online discussions on developing effective community-based mechanisms to involve citizens—women and youth in particular—in local governance to promote accountability and transparency. After his fellowship, he plans to work with his organization in developing youth community councils in districts across Afghanistan to connect grassroots constituencies with local officials in order to facilitate accountability and responsive budgeting.
