Building Civil Society’s Capacity to Improve Governance in the City of Bangui

To promote a dialogue between civil society and authorities in Bangui. The grantee will train several representatives of civil society organizations and hold exchange sessions to encourage them to work in synergy. It will convene working sessions involving national and local government officials and hold quarterly press conferences to unveil the outcome of the working sessions.

Building the Capacity of Youth-Led Organizations

Alliance pour la Renaissance Centrafricaine

To strengthen the organizational and project management skills of youth-led organizations in Bangui. The grantee will hold a series of trainings for promising youth leaders and then task them with developing and implementing mini-projects on civic engagement in their respective communities. To ensure the success of the mini-projects, the grantee will mentor these youth leaders for the duration of the project.

Promoting a Culture of Democracy in the School System

Association Jeunesse en Marche pour le Developpement en Centrafrique

To promote social cohesion, peace, and reconciliation in Bangui’s school system. The grantee will train a group of student leaders on notions of democratic culture and assist them with the administration of democracy clubs. It will also organize an awareness campaign during which several young artists will compose and perform songs about free and fair elections, social cohesion, and peace and reconciliation.

Promoting Youth Commitment to the Consolidation of Peace

To encourage youth to contribute to the national recovery and peace consolidation effort, the grantee will help youth leaders develop community-based activities. In addition, the grantee will promote youth leadership and civic engagement by organizing a mobilization campaign. It will implement most of these activities in partnership with relevant government officials and a working group composed of 80 youth leaders.
