Description: To prepare labor leaders and union activists from liberated governorates of Iraq to reestablish unions and advocate for the protection of worker rights during reconstruction. The center will conduct trainings for union leaders and activists from districts that had been under Islamic State control on occupational safety and health, organizing, workers' legal rights, and monitoring and raising awareness of violations of worker rights, such as unpaid wages and hazardous working conditions. The center's partners will also advocate for policies to ensure protection of workers' rights throughout reconstruction.
