To improve the effectiveness of public participation in political processes in South Africa. NDI will strengthen the capacity of provincial legislators and local government officials to reach out to rural populations in their oversight of service delivery issues. NDI will also assist civil society groups to mobilize rural commu­nities, particularly women to engage strategically with political leaders in policy making and implementation processes.
