Myriam Fizazi-Hawkins

Senior Director, Grantmaking Resource Center

Myriam Fizazi-Hawkins is the Director, Grantmaking Resource Center, at NED.  In this capacity, she leads the team responsible for coordinating the pre-approval processes of NED’s global grantmaking program, documenting its policies and procedures, managing its technology systems, and offering staff training on all of the above. As Director, Myriam focuses on working across teams to develop, test, and implement business process efficiencies for the grantmaking program. She previously served as Co-Director of NED’s Grantmaking Resource Center, and in Program Coordination at NED. Before joining NED in 2005, Myriam served as Senior Program Officer in Program Coordination at the National Democratic Institute, where she was the primary point of contact on grant-related issues for the NED, and negotiated grant agreements on behalf of NDI with the US Agency for International Development, the Department of State, and other agencies.

Myriam is an active participant and presenter at conferences and related events in the fields of grants management and change management. She has served as the DC region Chair of PEAK Grantmaking, a national association representing grants professionals primarily in the private sector, and recently participated in the development of a professional competency model for grantmakers.
