To improve citizen access to Chad’s justice system. APLFT will continue to run its legal clinics in the capital, Chad Basin, southern, and eastern regions of the country. Endowment funding will cover overhead for 8 offices, fund the­atrical sketches to teach citizens civic education, and fund a two-day work­shop for rural women on their rights.

Public Interest Law Center (PILC)

To strengthen rule of law in Chad and its citizen access to it. PILC will increase its capacity to cover a portion of its operat­ing expenses to train para-jurists on their rights and represent them in legal disputes. PILC will also conduct two investigative visits interviewing commu­nity members and documenting hu­man rights abuses in the Doba Basin.

Radio Kar Uba

To promote dialogue and harmonious living among the different communities in southern Chad and educate them on the 2010 elections. Radio Kar Uba will build a new antenna to expand its coverage beyond Moundou, purchase equipment to its correspondents to travel o rural areas, finance journalists’ investigations, and continue its programming on human rights, conflict prevention, and civic education.
