Lynn Lee

Director for East Asia and Regional Programs

Lynn Lee is the Director for East Asia and Regional Programs at the National Endowment for Democracy (NED), having previous served as Senior Program Officer for North Korea and Asia regional programs. Lee also leads NED’s strategic initiative to foster democratic cooperation and partnership among democracies in the Indo-Pacific region, as well as a cross-regional initiative to support innovative response to authoritarian influence on democracy. Lee has over 20 years of experience in civil society development, human rights and democracy support, project designing and evaluation, and network and coalition building. Her writings on East Asia and Asia regional issues have appeared on the Foreign Policy, 38 North, and American Purpose. She earned her doctorate in development studies from Sussex University and master’s degree in urban and regional planning from the University of Wisconsin-Madison.
