To empower youth in Mozambique to channel their talents and leverage new and existing political processes across the political divide, the Institute will provide technical and financial assistance to its local civil society partner to conduct democracy academies for young members of political parties; and leverage existing relationships with Mozambique’s three political parties with representation in the Assembly of the Republic to facilitate engagement between political party leaders and party youth to foster greater collaboration on prevailing challenges facing good governance in Mozambique.

To boost youth civic engagement in Southern Mozambique, the grantee will train several youths on leadership and social accountability, establish a Youth Hub, and launch a civic awareness campaign targeting high schools. In addition to helping youth leaders engage local authorities at town hall meetings and policy dialogues, the grantee will further educate youth through policy briefings and the simulation of a municipal assembly plenary session.
