To document human rights and disinformation during the Covid-19 pandemic in South Asia. The organization will document the mass migration of citizens in the context of the crisis as well as misinformation and disinformation that fuels racism, hatred, and communalism. In cooperation with a network of journalists and activists across the region, the organization will operate a web portal that analyzes news and social media narratives and compiles a historical record of their impact on governance as well as political and public narratives.

To promote the expansion of democratic spaces in South Asia, the center will enhance the capacity of trade unions in Sri Lanka, Maldives, Nepal, and India to form sub-regional coalitions; advocate in key economic sectors on worker rights, labor laws, sustainable development goals (SDGs), gender-based violence and harassment (GBVH), and migration; and organize and promote democratic practices and structures within unions while representing a broad base of workers, including migrant workers, women, and youth.
