Expanding Youth Political Inclusion and Amplifying Youth Voice


Public Summary: To support meaningful youth participation in political parties, the Institute will work with key governing and opposition parties to strengthen the organizational, communications, and policy development capacity of Montenegrin party youth wings and better incorporate youth priorities into parties policy processes. To prepare youth to participate in party politics, the Institute will build the capacity of rising youth political leaders so they can contribute as responsible political actors in Montenegro s democratic development.

Human Rights Action

Advancing the Process of Transitional Justice
Public Summary: To advance the process of transitional justice. The organization will monitor investigations and trials in local war crimes chambers as well as proceedings for war crimes victims’ rights to compensation. The organization will monitor the implementation of the war crimes strategy and draft recommendations to improve it. Working with similar organizations and victims’ associations, the group will produce an alternative report about the state’s compliance with international conventions on war crimes and will also convene trainings for judges and prosecutors.

Center for Investigative Journalism of Montenegro

Fostering Independent Journalism and Freedom of Information
Public Summary: To promote financial transparency and accountability of political leaders regarding domestic and foreign investment. The organization will produce and disseminate a series of investigative articles and a documentary examining cases of misuse of political power; particularly those related to foreign-funded investments and infrastructure projects. The organization will distribute articles and documentary free of charge to media outlets, relevant civil society groups, and government agencies.

Network for the Affirmation of NGO Sector – MANS

Promoting Transparency and Accountability of Public Institutions
Public Summary: To strengthen the oversight of public financing and promote the transparency and accountability of political parties and public institutions. The watchdog will monitor public institutions and political parties’ finances, banking transactions, and procurement practices to map any misuse of public funds, identify illicit foreign influences, and spotlight strategies designed to produce financial gains and political influence ahead of elections. The organization will assist citizens reporting on misuse of public funds and conflicts of interest and will implement a public awareness campaign to highlight project findings.

Fostering Public Debate on Accountability
Public Summary: To foster a culture of political accountability and promote a policy dialogue amongst public officials. Drawing on its proven methodology, the organization will monitor the work of parliamentary committees and engage experts to identify opportunities for improving parliamentary transparency and governmental accountability and advancing policy discourse. The think tank will develop a multifaceted media strategy to share the project’s findings in policy briefs and research papers and publicize these through a multifaceted media outreach strategy.
