The Honorable Norm Coleman

Senator Norm Coleman serves as the Chief Executive Officer of both the American Action Network and its sister organization, the American Action Forum.

The Forum, a 501(c)(3), is a forward-looking policy institute dedicated to keeping America strong, free and prosperous. The Network is a 501(c)(4) action center, whose mission is to broaden the appeal and reach of center-right ideas by advancing persuasive policies and other outreach.

Senator Coleman served as Mayor of St. Paul in the 90s, and represented Minnesota in the United States Senate from 2003 until 2009. In the Senate, he served on the Agriculture, Foreign Relations, and Homeland Security Committees. In addition, he served as Chairman, and later Ranking Member, of the Senate Permanent Subcommittee on Investigations.

Senator Coleman had a well earned reputation for working in a bi-partisan manner in the Senate, particularly in his work with Senator Carl Levin (D-Mich) on the Permanent Subcommittee on Investigations, and with Democrat Senators Evan Bayh (D-Ind) and Kent Conrad (D-ND) on energy independence issues, Mark Pryor (D-Ark) on agriculture and Mary Landrieu (D-LA) on adoption issues.

Coleman lost his reelection bid to Al Franken after a lengthy recount and court battle awarded more votes to Franken.
