On July 22 from 4-5pm, the Center for Strategic and International Studies (CSIS) hosted an Exit Interview with retiring NED President Carl Gershman, who has served as NED’s leader since its founding in 1983. The Endowment is widely considered the world’s leading center for democratic thought and action and is respected by democratic leaders and activists around the globe. Under his leadership, NED has become a multifaceted institution that is a hub of activity, resources, and intellectual exchange for activists, practitioners, and scholars of democracy.
