Asim Ali

PENN KEMBLE DEMOCRACY FORUM FELLOWS

Asim Ali has an extensive background in the Middle East, human rights, countering violent extremism, and public private partnerships. Asim is currently working as a Foreign Affairs Officer in the Bureau of Democracy, Human Rights, and Labor. Prior to this role, he served on the White House CVE Summit coordination team for the Under Secretary of State for Civilian Security, Democracy, and Human Rights. In this capacity, he developed policy for senior officials, created and implemented democracy, human rights policies and programs. He also worked in the Secretary Kerry’s Office of Global Partnerships, where he led the engagement with private sector, civil society and interagency partners to develop innovative public-private partnership to promote economic growth in Middle East and North Africa.
