Gisselle G. Reynolds

Legislative Assistant and Director of Constituent Services, Office of Congressman Mario Diaz-Balart

Gisselle Reynolds currently serves as a Legislative Assistant and Director of Constituent Services to U.S. Representative Mario Diaz-Balart of Florida’s 25th Congressional District. Gisselle advises the Congressman in his capacity as a senior member of the House Committee on Appropriations, specifically as to the State, Foreign Operations and Related Programs Subcommittee. Her legislative portfolio includes foreign affairs, homeland security, agriculture and trade. Additionally, Gisselle supports the Congressman in his role as co-chair of the Congressional Taiwan Caucus, Colombia Caucus, Venezuela Democracy Caucus and Latino-Jewish Caucus.  Gisselle also leads his constituent casework team and has extensive experience assisting individuals with immigration and refugee matters, including asylum cases for pro-democracy and human rights leaders. Gisselle was born in Bolivia and grew up in Miami, Florida. She graduated from Florida International University with a Bachelor’s degree in Public Administration and a minor in Political Science. She also earned a Master’s degree in Public Administration and a Graduate Certificate in Homeland Security and Emergency Management. While a graduate student, Gisselle participated in a study abroad program organized by Florida International University and the University of National and World Economy (UNWE) in Bulgaria. Through this program, Gisselle gained a greater understanding of the various obstacles and hurdles countries may face as they undergo a democratic transition, and the steps that may be taken to promote good governance and stable, representative government. Gisselle is a recipient of the 2020 Congressional Hispanic Leadership Institute (CHLI) Stephen D. Vermillion III Congressional Staff Appreciation Award.
