Deputy Chief of Staff and Legislative Director, Congressman Pete Aguilar

Victoria Rivas is the Deputy Chief of Staff and Legislative Director for Congressman Pete Aguilar, Vice Chair of the Democratic Caucus, and handles appropriations, homeland security, foreign affairs, and immigration policy. She previously worked for Congresswoman Lucille Roybal-Allard, Chairwoman of the House Appropriations Subcommittee on Homeland Security, focusing on homeland security appropriations and serving as her lead staffer for H.R. 6, the Dream and Promise Act. Victoria began her career working for former Congressman Xavier Becerra. She graduated from U.C. Berkeley and is pursuing a master’s degree at the USAF’s Air Command and Staff College. In 2019, Victoria was named a Latino National Security & Foreign Policy Next Generation Leader by the Diversity in National Security Network and New America Foundation. Passionate about building a diverse congressional workforce, Victoria previously served as President of the Congressional Hispanic Staff Association.
