Kira Ribar

PENN KEMBLE DEMOCRACY FORUM FELLOWS

Kira Ribar is a Program Manager at the National Democratic Institute, where she has overseen programs in Colombia, Honduras and the Andean region.  She manages programs addressing issues of citizen security, political party strengthening, youth and women political engagement, electoral reform and domestic election observation. Previously, Ms. Ribar worked as a Legislative Correspondent and then Legislative Assistant to Congressman Robert Menendez (D-NJ) on foreign policy issues, managed private-sector teaching staff in Santiago, Chile while volunteering in a micro-credit program, and worked at at Freedom House as a Senior Program Officer on a global human rights program and civil society engagement in Cuba.  She holds a BSFS in Latin America Regional Studies from Georgetown University and an MSc in Global Politics and Global Civil Society from the London School of Economics and Political Science.
