Monty McGee has a record of using innovative approaches to tackle complex policy and technical challenges in support of defense, intelligence, and diplomatic missions. An Associate with Booz Allen Hamilton, Monty supports the Department of Defense Chief Information Officer’s Cyber Workforce Management Division. In this capacity, he is responsible for coordinating the foundational policy that identifies, tracks, reports, and unifies the DoD cyber workforce. Monty also designs strategic communications in support of DoD’s mission to recruit, retain, and sustain a ready cyber workforce. Before this assignment, Monty supported an intelligence client through a challenging reorganization by creating a unique solution to engage its workforce using tailored change management and strategic communication tactics. His support won praise from his client and gained the attention of senior leaders within the organization. As the Public Affairs Advisor to the Coordinator for Cyber Issues at the Department of State, Monty managed strategic communications and outreach campaigns on cybersecurity and information technology issues. He was a leading architect in developing the Department’s cyber training program for Foreign Service Officers serving in embassies and consulates worldwide. Monty is the recipient of multiple Department of State Meritorious Honor Awards and the Rangel Graduate Fellowship. Monty holds a M.S. in Foreign Service from Georgetown University and a B.A. in Political Science from Norfolk State University. He has also earned professional certifications in Cybersecurity Strategy and Cybersecurity Technology from Georgetown University and University of Maryland University College, respectively. Monty speaks Spanish and currently lives in Northern Virginia.
