Julie N. Snyder

Libya Desk Officer, USAID/Middle East Bureau, Office of North African and Arabian Affairs

Julie N. Snyder is the Libya Desk Officer with USAID’s Middle East Bureau in the Office of North African and Arabian Affairs. In this capacity, she serves as the Global Fragility Act focal point for the Bureau, provides strategic guidance on USAID/Libya’s approach, and offers technical guidance on democracy, human rights, and governance issues. Previously, she served as a conflict and democracy advisor with USAID’s Africa Bureau, supporting the Great Lakes, Francophone West Africa, and Ethiopia. Outside of government, she has worked with the Center for Strategic and International Studies (CSIS), the Center for Civilians in Conflict, RTI International, the United Nations Economic and Social Commission for Western Asia, and DevLab@Duke. A graduate of the College of William & Mary and Duke University, Julie is an adjunct fellow with CSIS’s Human Rights Initiative.
