Deputy Chief of Staff and Communications Director, Office of Congressman Lloyd Doggett

Kate Stotesbery is the Deputy Chief of Staff and Communications Director for U.S. Representative Lloyd Doggett, where she manages the foreign policy, homeland security, and immigration legislative portfolio and serves as spokesperson. Recently, she led his bipartisan effort to press for an expansion of Temporary Protected Status (TPS) for Ukrainians in the U.S., before the Administration published the formal rule expanding eligibility by about double in the way the Members requested. Previously, she worked in Malawi as a research assistant on a USAID project on trust in government and taxation and was Dr. Madeleine Albright’s communications intern at Albright Stonebridge Group. She also taught high school history, civics, and literature at Shanti Bhavan, a residential school in South India. After completing an honors thesis, Kate graduated from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill as a Morehead-Cain Scholar and the recipient of the L. Richardson Preyer Award for Excellence in Political Science. She is from Austin, Texas.
