Luciana Debenedetti

PENN KEMBLE DEMOCRACY FORUM FELLOWS

Luciana Debenedetti is an Associate with Chemonics International’s Latin America and Caribbean division, where she has supported projects in Colombia related to governance and economic livelihoods, human rights, and financial inclusion. She was previously the Network Associate at Namati: Innovations in Legal Empowerment, where she worked to develop a global network of legal empowerment organizations; in this role, she supported grassroots advocacy campaigns on the post-2015 development goals, and organized regional conferences and trainings in Uganda, Ghana, Jordan, and Argentina. As a 2010 Humanity in Action Fellow, she spent a summer in Poland studying the legacy of the Solidarity movement on the country’s civil society and democratic development.

Luciana graduated magna cum laude from the University of Maryland, where she was a member of the Gemstone Honors Program and a Banneker/Key Scholar. A native of Argentina, she is fluent in Spanish.
