In 2019, NED made 1,684 grants to support the projects of NGOs abroad who are working for democratic goals supporting human rights, civic education, independent media, free and fair elections, rule of law, free markets, free trade unions, and fighting corruption. In this video, we look back on the year and remember some of NED’s accomplishments. In addition, we honor friends, colleagues, and defenders of democracy we sadly lost in 2019.
