Strengthening Democracy through Polling Data and Peacebuilding

To support democracy and strengthen civil society voices in Guyana, the Institute will (1) conduct a national public opinion poll to address the existing data gap from a lack of polling and, (2) apply the poll data in building the capacity of local stakeholders to begin addressing contentious issues (such as electoral and constitutional reforms). The Institute will lay the groundwork for a national reconciliation process that is needed to address contentious issues in a deeply polarized environment by training civil society and youth leaders on the techniques of peace building and conflict resolution and support a small-scale pilot project aimed at kickstarting reconciliation efforts in Guyana.
