The Fall/Winter 2016 issue of Democracy & Society, published by the Center for Democracy and Civil Society at Georgetown University, included as its leading article an essay by Journal of Democracy co-editor Marc F. Plattner reflecting on the current state of democracy within its important historical context and contrasting different perspectives regarding whether there has simply been democratic slowdown or downturn.
The issue also includes a book review of the Journal of Democracy book, Is Democracy in Decline?
